The PhD-Day also included talks from an alumni perspective, given by former PhD candidates, who shared their views and experiences on their doctorates and first steps in their scientific careers. “The young scientists also had the chance to train in small groups – from techniques of data visualization to the new high performance computer or scientific writing”, says Christine von Bloh, who coordinates the PhD programme at PIK.
